Is 9–11 years old and growing up in a Russian-speaking family
Speaks Russian freely and already reads, but telling a story or writing one is still hard
Reads confidently but needs the next step - from retelling to a story of their own
In our lessons we lead the child from reading to writing texts of their own - through books, conversation and creative projects. Each lesson lasts 60 minutes and stays lively and interesting: children read, discuss, write and gradually grow more confident in saying what they mean.
We read aloud and work through what we have read: what matters most here, and why the characters act as they do.
Learning to say “I think”, “it seems to me”, “because” - and to explain how they got there.
We write in every lesson: a story of 8–10 sentences, letters, postcards and reviews of books.
Research and creative projects that children make together and present to the group.
Short 15–20 minute activities: finish a text, write a mini-story, or take a quiz on the new words.
A project, “A Book About Me”, which the child presents to the group. At the end - a certificate for completing the programme.
18 topics throughout the year - from talking about yourself to telling stories of your own.
Poems and stories about children their own age, classics, fairy tales and non-fiction - things there is something to say about, and something to argue over.

Children growing up with two languages learn to see the world from a broader perspective and easily switch between different ways of thinking.
By learning the language more deeply, children learn to express their thoughts more precisely, understand complex ideas, and formulate their own ideas - building intellectual maturity.
