Privacy policy

Your data is processed by Pygmalion Academy, the online programme of Pygmalion Language Centre. You can reach us about anything to do with your data at hello@pygmalion.academy.

Through the enquiry form and in our correspondence we receive:

• the parent’s name
• your preferred way of getting in touch and the contact itself: Telegram, WhatsApp or email
• the child’s age
• any comment you choose to leave us

To answer your enquiry, find a group by age and level, agree the lesson time and organise payment and the lessons themselves. We do not use this data for anything else and we do not sell it to anyone.

Your consent, which you give by sending the form, and - once lessons begin - the performance of our study arrangement. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us.

Only with the services we cannot run without: the Zoom video platform (for the lessons themselves), our website hosting, our email service, and a payment provider or bank when you pay. Each of them receives only the minimum its part of the work requires.

Visit statistics are processed by the analytics service PostHog, and we measure how our advertising performs with the Meta and OpenAI pixels - see the cookies, analytics and advertising section below. None of them receives the contents of your enquiry: what we tell Meta and OpenAI is only that an enquiry was sent.

Enquiry data is kept while we are in touch and while your child is studying with us, plus the period the law requires for payment records. After that we delete it. Lesson recordings are kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically.

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your consent, or complain to a data protection authority. Writing to hello@pygmalion.academy is enough - we reply within a few days.

Besides the technical cookies the site needs in order to work - for example, to remember the language you chose - the site uses a cookie from the analytics service PostHog, to tell visitors apart and count visits, and a cookie from the Meta advertising pixel.

We collect visit statistics with PostHog; the data is stored on servers in the European Union. We see which pages are opened, where visitors arrive from and on what kind of device, and we record what happens on the pages - navigation, clicks, scrolling - to understand where the site is awkward. IP addresses are not stored. Anything you type into a form field is hidden in the recording. To pre-fill the country code in the phone field, the site works out your country from your connection; it isn't stored anywhere, and you can change the code.

We talk about the school on social media and advertise there, so the site runs the Meta pixel - Meta being the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It tells Meta which pages you opened and, separately, that an enquiry form was sent, so that we can see which advertising brings parents to us. It passes on neither the name, nor the contact, nor the child’s age, nor the comment from the enquiry. Meta processes this on its own servers, including outside the European Union, under its own privacy policy.

We also advertise in ChatGPT, so the site runs the OpenAI advertising pixel. It tells OpenAI one thing only - that an enquiry form was sent - so that we can see whether that advertising brings parents to us. It passes on neither the name, nor the contact, nor the child’s age, nor the comment from the enquiry. OpenAI processes this under its own privacy policy.

To switch off both the statistics and the advertising pixels, turn on your browser's Do Not Track setting - the site honours it: none of those scripts is loaded then.
